I’m Samir Lyons, the founder of Allrise Animation, a forensic animation studio that creates captivating animations that drive extraordinary results in trial and mediation.

Before moving into forensics, I built my career in high end visual effects for film and advertising. I worked on blockbuster features including Iron Man and Terminator: Salvation, and I helped create commercials and branded content for companies like Hershey’s, Apple, Samsung, Toyota, Nikon, Bridgestone, and more. That world trains you to obsess over realism and detail, but it also teaches you something just as important: visuals only work when they tell a story. The best directors are relentless about clarity, intention, and emotion. Working under filmmakers like Jon Favreau and McG shaped how I think about what the camera shows and how a sequence should unfold so the viewer feels the moment, not just sees it.

I bring that same discipline into legal animation. Accuracy is non negotiable, but accuracy alone does not guarantee comprehension. In a legal setting, the viewer is often seeing unfamiliar concepts for the first time, and they are processing them quickly. That is where storytelling technique matters. We use clear staging, purposeful camera choices, controlled pacing, and clean visual hierarchy so the most important information reads instantly. We build empathy by helping the viewer understand the lived experience of the event, especially in catastrophic injury cases, without exaggeration and without stepping outside what the evidence supports.

At Allrise, we translate complex reconstruction, biomechanical, and medical information into visuals that create conviction. That includes collision animations, mechanism of injury sequences, surgery animations, injury summaries, and supporting demonstratives. We also integrate real world capture like photogrammetry and laser scanning when the environment matters, so the scene geometry matches the location. The result is a deliverable that attorneys and experts can confidently use, whether the goal is to drive settlement value in mediation or allow jurors to understand the magnitude of loss in trial.
